Takayuki Sakiyama awarded special mention in the LOEWE Foundation Craft Prize

We are delighted to announce that Takayuki Sakiyama has been awarded a special mention in the LOEWE Foundation Craft prize 2021.
The special mention was awarded for his large ceramic sculpture 'Chōtō: Listening to the Waves’. Sakiyama lives near the sea on the Izu Peninsula where he creates his swirling rippling stoneware sculptural vessels. His series ‘Chōtō: Listening to the Waves- along with their unique sand glazes, are intended to remind you of the ebb and flow of the ocean and its currents.
