Takahiro Kondo
Born 1958 in Kyoto, Japan.
1982 Graduated from Hosei University, Literature faculty
1985 Completed Course at the Kyoto Prefectural Ceramics Technical Institute.
1986 Completed Course at the Kyoto Municipal Institute of Industrial Research
Takahiro Kondo was born into a family of celebrated potters and he still lives and works in his Grandfather’s studio in the Yamashina Hills, just outside Kyoto. He very much has his own artistic identity and style, and although he predominately works in porcelain he also experiments with other media such as metals and cast glass.
He has exhibited widely in Japan and abroad and his work is in many public collections including The National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh, UK. The Brooklyn Museum of Art, New York, USA. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, USA.
