Born 1948 in Hirata, Shimane Prefecture
Hiro Ajiki specialises in ceramic forms and has a life-long interest in the tea ceremony. His creations, especially his chawan (tea bowls) are spontaneous, refined and often embellished with gold and silver. From a young age he has enjoyed traveling the world which is a constant inspiration to him and his work. He has had exhibitions all over the world, in Mexico, USA, Germany and India and his work is regularly exhibited at the Nihon Dento Kogei Ten (Japanese Traditional Crafts Exhibition) and he received the Grand Prize ‘Modern Tea Forms Exhibition’ at the Tanabe Museum of Art.
