Eiko Kishi's large strong abstract sculptures require huge amounts of patience and great tenacity. She has perfected her own unique method of incorporating small fragments of crushed coloured clay into her work and before the clay is dry scoring the surface with diagonal, vertical and criss cross lines with a needle. Noh Theatre is one of her sources of inspiration. Her work is in major collections including V & A Museum, London, UK, National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh, UK. Museum of Arts & Design, New York, USA, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, USA, The Minnesota State University, USA
